FAQ

1. What seasons are you open?
Moore Farms opens the last weekend in September through October 31 each year for fall sales and tours. The farm is closed to the general public the remainder of the year.

2. What days are you open?
During our fall season, the farm is open M-F to RESERVED SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS ONLY
General Public hours---Sat 10-6 and Sun 1-5 during our fall season.

3. Do I need a reservation on the weekend?
No, the farm is open to the general public starting the last weekend in September through October 31, weekends only.

4. Does it cost anything to enter the farm?
Although it does not cost anything to look at the front of the farm, admission is charged for the u-pick pumpkins, hayride and to enter the entire farm.

5. Does it cost anything to see the animals?
The animals are inside the paid admission area. All activities including animals are included in the admission price.

6. Can we feed the animals?
Yes and no. A limited feed supply of corn cobs for shelling can be purchased on weekends. We do not restock after the daily feeding requirements have been met for all our animals.

7. My children want to pet the animals. Is that possible?
No, due to USDA guidelines on children under 5 years of age, immune deficiency disease and other related diseases, it is our policy that no children are allowed in the animal area. A staff member is in the adjacent area during our animal open hours.

8. What is the admission price?
Admission varies from year to year. For 2007, admission is $7 per person ages 3+ and includes all activities and a pumpkin from the designated field.

9. What if I am bringing senior citizens, do they still need to pay even though they don’t get a pumpkin?
Yes, think of it as six flags, you enter the farm and step on the hayride; you pay the admission and get a pumpkin.

10. Can I walk to the pumpkin patch?
No, the farm has strict rules about where visitors can safely walk without an employee present. The hayride will take you the pumpkin field, no exceptions.

11. Does the farm host birthday parties?
Yes, we offer a group rate starting at 20+ and can reserve the picnic area. The farm does not provide anything other than the farm activities. Birthday groups are responsible for cake, favors, décor, etc.

12. Can I bring tablecloths, streamers, and other decorations?
Yes, as long as you are responsible for taking them down. Due to the safety of our chickens, no Styrofoam products or steamers can be left behind.

13. I need adult helpers for my party. Will they have to pay admission just to help in the picnic area?
Yes, the picnic area is in the interior of the farm—anyone who enters must pay admission.

14. Can I arrive early to decorate for the party?
Yes, you may arrive 30-45 minutes early to decorate. You can meet the entire party at the big red barn to pay admission and check in when the party begins.

15. If children arrive late, can they join us?
Yes, but they will need to have paid or be on a paid list to enter the farm.

16. Can I purchase more pumpkins after I pick pumpkins from the patch?
Yes, different fall items and pumpkins are available under the barn for purchase.

17. Is the cornfield maze open?
During the daytime hours, the maze is part of your admission. The maze conditions are always dependent on the weather and it does close from time to time. Always call ahead.

18. Do you offer nighttime maze hours?
For groups of 20+ you can reserve evening hours for pumpkins and the maze. The nighttime maze hours will be announced each year after October 1 through our maze page at www.moorefarms.com. Updates on height etc are also available.

19. Do I get a pumpkin at night during the maze hours?
No, the cornfield maze and hayride are the only activities at night offered during special hours.

20. Is it less expensive to enter the maze at night?
Yes, the admission for night-time maze goers is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 3-12

21. Can I attend the farm during the daylight hours and come back to do the maze at night?
Yes, but a separate admission fee is charged to re-enter the farm.

22. Do I need to bring a flashlight to the night-time maze?
Yes, flashlights are not provided.

23. Will the maze close due to bad weather?
Yes, the entire farm does occasionally close if severe weather is in the area. Farm attendees will not be
allowed in the maze during lightening and until 30 minutes past the last seen lightening.

24. What time does the hayride start?
The hayride runs from opening until 15 minutes before closing on the
weekends during the fall season. Each hayride returns to the big red barn about every 20 minutes.

25. Can I take a stroller on the hayride?
Yes, but remember the farm is bumpy and full of dirt bugs and critters. Strollers are hard to push.

26. Is the farm handicap accessible?
Yes and no. We do have many visitors in wheelchairs. It is difficult to maneuver around the soil and grass.
Remember it is a farm with dirt roads and natural obstacles. We are able to put wheelchairs on the hayride.
We do not recommend walkers or canes as the ground is un-level.

27. Do you have restroom facilities?
Yes, we are a farm though and we do have several port-a-potties for restrooms.

28. Can I pick more than one pumpkin from the field?
Yes, all extra pumpkins will be priced accordingly as you exit the hayride.

29. Can I come on a weekday with my family?
No, the farm is not open on weekdays for families.

30. Do I need a reservation for weekdays?
Yes, only schools, home-school groups and daycares may reserve on weekdays
with a minimum of 15 reserved students.
